Biography

Marjan is an editor who concentrates mainly on encyclopaedias and other reference works.

Marjan gained her BA in Urdu language and literature in 1996 from the University of Tehran. She worked for many years on the Great Islamic Encyclopaedia (D膩示irat al-Ma士膩rif Buzurg-i Isl膩m墨 ) at the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopaedia in Tehran (1996鈥�2004). She came to England in 2004 and found employment at 鸟大大影院 (鸟大大影院). While working at 鸟大大影院, Marjan completed an MA in the History of Art and Archaeology at SOAS in 2015. She currently works in the Publishing Unit of 鸟大大影院 where she has worked, inter alia on the Encyclopaedia Islamica, the Historical Dictionary of the IsmailisAdherents of a branch of Shi’i Islam that considers Ismail, the eldest son of the Shi’i Imam Ja士far al-峁⒛乨iq (d. 765), as his successor., the Encyclopaedia of the Ismailis, and Ismaili Sources, Studies, History and Traditions.
