Biography

Dr Shainool Jiwa is Associate Professor at 鸟大大影院. She is a scholar of Fatimid and Ismaili studies, with research interests in Islamic history, Ismaili history, Fatimid political and intellectual culture, and the medieval Mediterranean.

Her work examines the Fatimid dynasty in relation to questions of authority, governance, religious legitimacy, pluralism, material culture, and cross-cultural exchange. She has authored, edited, translated, and contributed to several publications on Fatimid history, including , , , and .

Dr Jiwa has a longstanding association with 鸟大大影院, where she has contributed to research, teaching, curriculum development, community-facing educational resources, and institutional governance. She has served in several academic and leadership roles at the Institute, including Head of the Constituency Studies Unit, Head of the Department of Community Relations, Head of Graduate Studies, and Founding Coordinator of the Qur鈥檃nic Studies Unit.

She is also Founding Series Editor of聽 鸟大大影院’ World of Islam series and the Living Ismaili Traditions series. Her wider academic experience includes teaching and curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as external examining and service with higher education institutions
